The 4-star Hotel Posta is located between the two main squares in Reggio Emilia, Piazza del Monte and Piazza del Duomo, next to the Via Emilia overlooking Piazza Prampolini. A strategic location in downtown Reggio Emilia, convenient to all the city's main attractions.
Near the hotel are the elegant Palazzo del Monte di Pietà, Palazzo Bussetti, designed by Bernini, the Baptistery, the renovated Romanesque Cathedral, the Basilica of San Prospero with frescos by Procaccini, the Municipal Theater, the Basilica della Ghiara and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in the ancient Caserma Zucchi.
When strolling downtown, spend time shopping in one of the numerous food stores. Our region is world famous for our home made pasta, our delicious deli meats, acclaimed balsamic vinegar, parmigiano reggiano cheese and our wine.
If you're a modern art lover, you can admire the works in the Maramotti Collection, at the Spazio Gerra and the recent permanent collections of Luciano Fabro Robert Morris and Sol Lewitt, in buildings downtown along with works by other modern artists.
We also suggest you visit the Civic Museums. At the Museo del Tricolore - that will thrill you with the history of the birth of the national flag in Reggio Emilia - there is an interesting section dedicated to the Renaissance. The nearby Galleria Parmeggiani offers three brilliant collections from the nineteenth century: period items, paintings and furniture.
Lastly, Reggio Emilia is famous for the nineteenth century Romolo Valli Municipal Theater, one of the most beautiful and functional theaters in Italy, with extraordinary gilded stucco decor and a radiant Neo-Classic facade. Luciano Pavarotti debuted at the Valli Theater and the first opera composed by the native composer, Alberto Franchetti, was performed here in 1888. Nearby, you'll find the Ariosto Theater with its late Art Nouveau frescos.
From the Reggio Emilia train station you can walk down Via IV November to its end, cross the ring road and turn right on Via Emilia San Pietro. Continue for 1 km to Piazza del Monte where you will find the Hotel Posta. Alternatively, you can take a taxi which costs about 5 Euro to reach our hotel in about five minutes or take the bus that runs until 8 PM.
The Mediopadana station is situated about 3 km north of the city center. A taxi to our hotel takes only about five minutes and costs around €10 Euro, or a bus service is available that runs until 8 PM.
From the A1 highway, exit at Reggio Emilia and follow the signs for the city center. Near the ring road you'll find signs for the Hotel Posta that will lead you to our garage. The hotel is located in a pedestrian area with video camera surveillance. Simply leave your license plate number at the hotel desk either before or after you arrive.
The Bologna ‘Guglielmo Marconi’ airport is 45 km from Reggio Emilia. If you rent a car, take the A1 highway towards Milan, exit at Reggio Emilia and follow the direction under point 'By car'. Alternative, you can take a taxi or bus to the Reggio Emilia or Bologna train stations.

· From the Parma Giuseppe Verdi airport: about 25 km on the highway. Daily flights to Rome and other Italian cities.
· From the Milan Malpensa airport: about 140 km on the highway.
